These new tubular lower control arms are shipped complete with lower ball joints, steering stops, jounce bumpers and are ready to install on your car. The Detroit Speed and Engineering upper control arms are ready to bolt on!ĭetroit Speed and Engineering's tubular lower control arms replace stock lower control arms on 1967-1969 Camaro/Firebirds and 1968-1974 Novas. Two sets of 'Caster Tuner Bushings' are included. The arms are powder coated gloss black and come assembled with ball joints. The ball joint pocket is CNC machined from billet for increased strength. The arms are then TIG welded in a fixture for accuracy and repeatability of geometry. The upper control arms have CNC machined tube ends for precision fits. The bushings also have CNC machined bevel stainless washers and stainless ny-lock nuts. This provides more consistent and precise handling. These greaseable aluminum / Delrin bushings have an increased stiffness over stock. The upper control arms also utilize DSE designed bushings. This unique caster adjustment design is engineered to be precise and permanent. These aluminum bushings adjust caster by moving the upper control arm fore/aft for more or less caster without adding alignment shims. The control arms have CNC stainless steel cross shafts which incorporate DSE's 'Caster Tuner Bushings'. DSE's upper control arms have been computer modeled and the components have undergone finite element analysis. They also increase caster for improved ride and handling. Suspension geometry is improved over stock by increasing camber gain and improving roll camber.

The Detroit Speed and Engineering upper control arm kit is a bolt on enhancement for 1970-1981 Camaros / Firebirds. That is why the older muscle cars rarely performed well during cornering, nor felt planted to the ground in any condition. Older muscle cars really were not designed for handling, but rather for straight-line performance. This is done with different length control arms which directly effect the tilt of the tire in relationship to the pavement. The main concept is keeping as much of the tire on the ground as possible during all conditions. Straight-line stability, corner entry and overall vehicle response is addressed. Suspension geometry has been improved for every application.

G-PLUS (Geometry Plus) series control arms offer more than just a high tech appearance on a vehicle. I have a set of QA1 coilovers but, I need a new front sway bar, pitman arm, centerlink and new steering box also. The 2014 Ford Mustang Cobra Jet is built in only 50 examples and sold starting from $97,990 each.I am considering a set of tubular a-arms for my street car, but which to buy and why? The system tested two-tenths better on the track with Ford Racing drivers at the wheel, and we’re proud to be able to offer it to everyone now.” But instead of offering the same suspension we built for the Cobra Jet, we’ve redesigned it to include double-adjustable lower control arms, which aren’t legal in NHRA Stock competition – but are everywhere else. Now that the S197 Cobra Jet program has been completed, we’re able to offer that same suspension system to the general public. “We’ve worked with Ford Racing on the development and construction of the Cobra Jet suspension since the beginning. The complete package can be ordered at $879, Team Z Motorsports says each part can be also purchased separately. Developed together with Ford Racing, the suspension pack comes with a pair of double-adjustable, TIG-welded chromoly lower control arms with high-strength rod ends, a pair of TIG-welded lower control arm relocation brackets, bolt-in anti-roll bar, and a spherical housing bushing.
